Community Acupuncture is catching on nation-wide; visit the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture website to find clinics in other cities.
OAP was profiled in Oakland Magazine’s featured article for January-February 2012, “Unconventional Medicine: Heal Thyself Through Alternative and Complementary Therapies.” Just one small correction: we do NOT have any private rooms! The article also profiles other “alternative” medical providers including a homeopath, a naturopathic doctor, a chiropractic practice, and an herbalist. Oakland North, an online community news project from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, published a story about Oakland Acupuncture Project’s new clinic on Grand Ave. The author does a great job capturing the mood of the new space while explaining a bit about community acupuncture for those who’ve never experienced it. The new recliners are awfully comfortable, come on by and give them a try!
